Website Redesign

Introduction

Goldbelt Inc. has initiated a Request for Proposal (RFP) process to identify a vendor qualified to plan, execute and deliver the redesign of Goldbelt Inc. and its subsidiary web sites.

Goldbelt Inc. requires a vendor who has demonstrated experience in managing multiple inter-related web site projects and expertise with best practices regarding successful web site design, development, and deployment.

About Goldbelt Inc.

Goldbelt, Incorporated is an urban Alaska Native, for‐profit corporation headquartered in Juneau, Alaska. Incorporated on January 4, 1974 following the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act (ANCSA), Goldbelt’s primary mission is to manage assets and conduct business for the benefit of its more than 3,800 shareholders.

Project Background

Goldbelt Inc. has a website created approximately five years ago which consists of largely static web content published using Drupal 7.  The web sites are developed using both a custom template and a collection of commercially available templates.  Some refresh work has occurred in the last five years; however, all the web sites will be refreshed through this effort.

Subsidiary web site design and structure are largely standardized; however, there are some variations, especially for different business verticals (i.e., information technology, construction).

Current Usage/Website Statistics

Google Analytics are presently used to monitor web site performance and visitor metrics.  Goldbelt desires to continue to use Google Analytics into the future.

Project Goals

Our goals are:

  • New look and feel using current design styles and methods
  • Modern professional look
  • Address issues of usability and Section 508 accessibility
  • Improved navigation including between web properties
  • Responsive design (including available and navigable, by any device)
  • Improve Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
  • Develop naming conventions and rules (e.g., event types, roles & responsibilities, permissions, etc.)
  • Improve keyword search capability
  • Enable means for designated individuals with specific roles within Goldbelt (non-programmers) to update appropriate sections, generate reports, send Goldbelt sourced email, etc.)
  • Create an employee portal
  • Develop a methodology to address businesses that have been terminated to continue to leverage goodwill into the future

Submission Deadline and Completion Date

Bids will be submitted by Friday, September 13, 2019

Work will be completed by Friday, January 3, 2020

 Proposal Submission

Firms wishing to submit proposals should do so by no later than 3:00pm, September 13, 2019 by submitting two copies of the proposal and any company brochures, pamphlets and/or materials indicating the firm’s qualifications to Goldbelt Inc., Information Department, 3025 Clinton Drive, Juneau AK 99801.
